Abi Clarke
In the past,
i.e. in the early 2020s comedians were expected to entertain for decades in the
UK before being invited to an audience on TV and then selling out arena shows.
It's not so easy at the moment. One form of art that can be performed live in
the future is comedy, however there will soon be no arena shows. But one
comedian from Bristol has managed to reach a huge global audience via the
social media lockdown. Abi Clarke wasn't aiming to become a global internet
star. Abi Clarke, 24, who lives in Henbury , England with her parents, created
her first videos online to "build an online community of like-minded
people who would enjoy my stand-up comic act." "I performed a lot in
Devon to males who were in their 50s and were not as enthusiastic about my Love
Island Sims and Twilight references, so I decided to look online for younger
women who could appreciate my stand-up comedy." Abi, who lives in Henbury
with her parents, continues to post her videos on Instagram, Twitter, and Tik Tok.
She draws inspiration from many sources, such as conversations with strangers,
the chatroom, and also writing notes on her smartphone.
